During her collegiate career, Groenewegen set remarkable records, holding the all-time strikeouts and strikeout ratio records, and she continues to rank among the best in both the Big Ten Conference and NCAA Division I in the strikeout ratio category.

In two thousand seventeen, Groenewegen was drafted second overall into the National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) league, where she joined the Canadian Wild.
