Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez, born on August thirty-first, nineteen seventy-five, in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, is a multifaceted American actor, singer, and activist. At the age of eight, they relocated to the United States, where they later graduated with a fine arts degree from the prestigious Juilliard School. Ramirez's career began on Broadway, making a notable debut in Paul Simon's The Capeman, which paved the way for their future endeavors in film and television.

Ramirez's breakthrough role came in two thousand five when they portrayed the original Lady of the Lake in the Broadway musical Spamalot, earning the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical. They are perhaps best known for their role as Dr. Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy, where they became one of the longest-running LGBT characters in U.S. television history, appearing in eleven seasons and two hundred thirty-nine episodes. Their voluntary addition of the character's bisexuality marked a significant moment for queer representation in primetime television.

After leaving Grey's Anatomy, Ramirez publicly came out as bisexual and later identified as non-binary, adopting they/them pronouns. They continued to break barriers by portraying bisexual and non-binary characters, such as Kat Sandoval on Madam Secretary and Che Díaz on And Just Like That.... In addition to their on-screen roles, Ramirez made their voice acting debut in the nineteen ninety-nine PlayStation video game Um Jammer Lammy, voicing the title character, and later lent their voice to Queen Miranda in the Disney Junior animated series Sofia the First from two thousand twelve to two thousand eighteen.

In two thousand nine, Ramirez released their first single, 'Silent Night,' followed by a self-titled EP that debuted at number thirty-seven on the Billboard 200 in two thousand eleven.
