Sára Salkaházi

Sára Salkaházi, born on May eleventh, nineteen ninety-nine, was a remarkable Hungarian Catholic religious sister whose life was marked by extraordinary courage and compassion. As a member of the Sisters of Social Service, she dedicated herself to serving others, embodying the values of faith and charity throughout her life.

During the harrowing years of World War II, Salkaházi emerged as a beacon of hope, saving the lives of approximately one hundred Jews from the horrors of the Holocaust. Her selfless acts of bravery in the face of danger showcased her unwavering commitment to humanity and justice.

Tragically, her noble efforts did not go unnoticed by the pro-Nazi Arrow Cross Party, which led to her denouncement and subsequent execution. Despite her untimely death, Salkaházi's legacy endures, and in two thousand six, she was beatified, honoring her sacrifices and the profound impact she had on countless lives.
