Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Sarada Devi

Sarada Devi, born on December twenty-second, eighteen fifty-three, in the village of Jayrambati, West Bengal, India, emerged as a pivotal figure in the Ramakrishna Movement. Her life intertwined with that of the revered mystic Ramakrishna, whom she married in eighteen fifty-nine at the tender age of five. Despite the early marriage, she remained with her family until she turned eighteen, at which point she joined Ramakrishna at the Dakshineswar Kali temple.

Throughout their lives, Sarada Devi and Ramakrishna exemplified the ideals of both householders and monastics, living lives of unbroken continence. Following Ramakrishna's passing, she became a guiding light for his disciples, who regarded her as their mother. Sarada Devi spent much of her time in Joyrambati and at the Udbodhan office in Calcutta, offering wisdom and encouragement to those who sought her counsel.

The legacy of Sarada Devi continues to thrive through the Sri Sarada Math and Ramakrishna Sarada Mission, both located in Dakshineshwar. These institutions are founded on her ideals and life, reflecting her significant role in the growth of the Ramakrishna Movement. Today, she is revered by followers and devotees worldwide, many of whom worship her as an incarnation of the Adi Parashakti, or the Divine Mother.
