Sarah Mullally

Sarah Mullally, born on March twenty-six, nineteen sixty-two, in Woking, Surrey, is a distinguished Anglican bishop and a prominent figure in the healthcare sector. She began her career as a nurse, excelling in various clinical and leadership roles within the National Health Service. In nineteen ninety-nine, she made history as the youngest chief nursing officer and director of patient experience for England, a role that underscored her commitment to nursing and midwifery. Her contributions to the field were recognized in two thousand five when she was appointed Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire.

Transitioning from healthcare to ministry, Mullally was ordained as a priest in two thousand two and served in the Diocese of Southwark. Her journey in the church continued as she became the canon treasurer of Salisbury Cathedral in two thousand twelve. In two thousand fifteen, she was consecrated as the Bishop of Crediton, and in two thousand eighteen, she made history again by becoming the first woman to serve as Bishop of London.

On January twenty-eight, two thousand twenty-six, Mullally ascended to the role of the one hundred sixth Archbishop of Canterbury, succeeding Justin Welby.
