Sarah Nurse

Sarah Nurse, born on January fourth, nineteen ninety-five, is a prominent Canadian professional ice hockey player who currently serves as the alternate captain for the Vancouver Goldeneyes in the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) and the Canada women's national ice hockey team.

Her remarkable achievements include winning an Olympic gold medal at the twenty twenty-two Winter Olympics, where she not only secured victory but also shattered the single-tournament Olympic point record with eighteen points. This historic win made her the first Black woman to earn a gold medal in Olympic ice hockey. Additionally, Nurse earned a silver medal at the twenty eighteen Winter Olympics.

Nurse's international career is highlighted by her participation in six IIHF World Women's Championships, where she has claimed three gold medals in twenty twenty-one, twenty twenty-two, and twenty twenty-four, alongside two silver medals in twenty twenty-three and twenty twenty-five, and a bronze in twenty nineteen.

Before her professional career, Nurse had an outstanding collegiate tenure with the Wisconsin Badgers, marked by four Frozen Four appearances. She also played one season with the Toronto Furies in the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL).

In addition to her on-ice accomplishments, Nurse co-founded the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association (PWHPA) and has been an active member of its board. Following the launch of the PWHL in twenty twenty-three, she joined the executive committee for the PWHL Players Association (PWHLPA), further advocating for the growth and recognition of women's hockey.
