Sarduri IV

Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Sarduri IV

Sarduri IV, a notable monarch of Urartu, ruled from six hundred fifteen to five hundred ninety-five BC. He was the son of Rusa III and ascended to the throne as his successor. His reign marked a tumultuous period for the kingdom, characterized by external threats and invasions.

During Sarduri IV's rule, Urartu faced significant challenges as Assyrian forces advanced from the south, east, and west. Additionally, the Medes from the east and the Scythians from the north posed further threats to the stability of his kingdom. Despite these adversities, little detailed information about his reign has survived the passage of time.

Tragically, Sarduri IV died without leaving an heir, which led to his brother, Rusa IV, succeeding him. This transition marked the end of an era for Urartu, as the kingdom struggled to maintain its sovereignty amidst growing external pressures.
