Saša Obradović, born on January twenty-ninth, nineteen sixty-nine, is a distinguished Serbian basketball coach and former player. Currently, he serves as the head coach for Crvena zvezda, competing in the Basketball League of Serbia, the ABA League, and the Euroleague. Standing at one point ninety-seven meters, or six feet five and a half inches, he played primarily as a guard for several prominent teams, including Crvena zvezda, Limoges, Alba Berlin, Virtus Roma, Budućnost, and RheinEnergie Köln.
Throughout his illustrious playing career, Obradović achieved remarkable success, winning the FIBA Korać Cup in nineteen ninety-five, three YUBA League championships, and a Yugoslav Cup. His accolades also include a German League title and three German Cup tournaments. As a Yugoslav international, he was a key player in securing three FIBA EuroBasket gold medals in nineteen ninety-five, nineteen ninety-seven, and two thousand one, along with a bronze medal in nineteen ninety-nine. Additionally, he claimed the gold medal at the nineteen ninety-eight FIBA World Championship and an Olympic silver medal at the nineteen ninety-six Olympics.
Obradović concluded his playing career in two thousand five with RheinEnergie Köln. The following season marked the beginning of his coaching journey, where he quickly made a name for himself by winning the German League in his rookie season. In the two thousand eleven to twelve season, he led Donetsk to their first-ever Ukrainian Super League title, further establishing his coaching credentials.
Afterward, he spent four seasons coaching Alba Berlin, where he added three German Cup victories to his resume. In two thousand eighteen, Obradović achieved another milestone by winning the Russian Cup with Lokomotiv Kuban, an accomplishment that earned him the prestigious EuroCup Coach of the Year award.
