Sati Beg, born in the year 1300, was a prominent figure in the political landscape of the Ilkhanate. As the sister of Il-Khan Abu Sa'id, who reigned from 1316 to 1333, she was intricately linked to the ruling elite of her time.
Her political influence extended through her marriages to several key figures, including amir Chupan, Il-Khan Arpa, and Il-Khan Suleiman. These alliances not only solidified her status but also positioned her at the heart of the power struggles that characterized the era.
In a remarkable turn of events during the years of 1338 to 1339, Sati Beg ascended to the role of Ilkhanid khatun, becoming a queen regnant amidst the internal conflicts and fragmentation of the Ilkhanate. Her appointment by the Chobanid faction, led by Hassan Kuchak, marked a significant moment in the history of the region.
