Satoshi Ishii

Satoshi Ishii, born on December nineteenth, nineteen eighty-six, is a distinguished retired mixed martial artist, kickboxer, professional boxer, and judoka. He proudly holds Croatian citizenship since two thousand nineteen, reflecting his diverse heritage as a Japanese-Croatian athlete.

His remarkable journey in judo reached its pinnacle when he clinched the gold medal at the Beijing two thousand eight Summer Olympics. Additionally, Ishii showcased his prowess by earning a silver medal at the two thousand six Asian Games and securing victories at two All-Japan Judo Championships while representing Japan.

Ishii transitioned to professional mixed martial arts in two thousand nine, making his debut at Dynamite!! where he faced fellow judo gold medalist Hidehiko Yoshida, ultimately losing by unanimous decision. Despite this setback, he has built an impressive record of twenty-four wins, twelve losses, and one draw, and currently competes under contract with the Professional Fighters League.

Throughout his career, Ishii has also fought for prominent organizations such as Rizin Fighting Federation and Bellator. He is recognized as the current HEAT Heavyweight Champion and SBC Heavyweight Champion, solidifying his status as a formidable competitor in the combat sports arena.
