Sattar Bahlulzade

Sattar Bahlulzade, born on December second, nineteen oh nine, was a distinguished Azerbaijani painter renowned for his evocative landscape paintings that beautifully capture the essence of Azerbaijan's natural beauty. He is celebrated as the founder of Azerbaijani Impressionism, a movement that has left a lasting impact on the country's artistic heritage.

Among his most notable works are 'Tears of Kapaz' from nineteen sixty-five, 'Bank of the Gudiyalchay' created in nineteen fifty-three, 'Dream of the Land' from nineteen sixty-one, 'Evening Above the Caspian Sea' produced in nineteen fifty-nine, and 'Goygol' completed in nineteen sixty-four. His art has been showcased in numerous exhibitions across Azerbaijan, the Soviet Union, and various international venues, further solidifying his reputation as a master painter.

The majority of Bahlulzade's artistic legacy is preserved in the National Art Museum of Azerbaijan, which features a dedicated hall in his honor. Additionally, his works are housed in prestigious museums in cities such as Moscow, Tbilisi, and Beijing, reflecting his global influence and recognition.

Today, Sattar Bahlulzade is regarded as one of Azerbaijan's greatest painters and a pivotal figure in the evolution of Azerbaijani art. His contributions have earned him numerous accolades, including two Orders of the Red Banner of Labour and the esteemed title of People's Artist of Azerbaijan.
