Scott Carson

Scott Carson, born on September 3, 1985, is an English former professional footballer renowned for his role as a goalkeeper. His football journey began at the Leeds United academy in 2002, where he quickly made a name for himself, debuting for the first team against Manchester United in February 2004.

In January 2005, Carson made a significant move to Liverpool for a transfer fee of seven hundred fifty thousand pounds. His time at Liverpool was marked by nine appearances, including a memorable performance in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Juventus in April 2005. To gain further experience, he embarked on loan spells with Sheffield Wednesday, Charlton Athletic, and Aston Villa over the following seasons.

After returning to Liverpool from Aston Villa at the end of the 2007-08 season, Carson signed with West Bromwich Albion for a fee of three million two hundred fifty thousand pounds in July 2008. His career then took him to Bursaspor in Turkey in 2011, before returning to England to play for Wigan Athletic. In 2015, he joined Derby County, further solidifying his reputation in English football.

In August 2019, Carson joined reigning Premier League champions Manchester City on loan, providing essential cover for Ederson and Claudio Bravo. He later signed permanently with the club in 2021. After six years with City, he departed at the end of his contract in June 2025 and announced his retirement from professional football four months later, having played just 107 minutes during his final season.

Carson's international career began with the England under-21 team in February 2004, where he set a record with twenty-nine caps. He made his full debut for the England senior team against Austria in November 2007, marking a significant milestone in his football journey.
