Scott Cawthon, born on June fourth, nineteen seventy-eight, is a prominent American video game developer, writer, and producer, best known for creating the iconic horror video game series, Five Nights at Freddy's. This franchise has not only captivated gamers since its inception in two thousand fourteen but has also expanded into a multifaceted media phenomenon.

Before his breakthrough in horror gaming, Cawthon began his career by developing family-friendly Christian video games, which, despite his efforts, achieved minimal success. His transition to the horror genre marked a significant turning point, leading to the development of eight main series games, four spin-offs, and a plethora of fan-made content by two thousand twenty-five.

In addition to his work in gaming, Cawthon has contributed to the franchise through various written works, including novels and screenplays.
