Sean Duffy, born on October third, nineteen seventy-one, is a prominent American politician and attorney, currently serving as the twentieth United States Secretary of Transportation since January twenty twenty-five. His career has been marked by significant roles, including his tenure as the acting administrator of NASA from July to December twenty twenty-five. A member of the Republican Party, Duffy represented Wisconsin's seventh congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from two thousand eleven to two thousand nineteen and served as the district attorney of Ashland County, Wisconsin, from two thousand two to two thousand ten.
Raised in Hayward, Wisconsin, Duffy's early career included competing as a professional lumberjack, where he showcased his skills in the Lumberjack World Championship, earning multiple titles in speed climbing. His journey into the public eye began in nineteen ninety-seven when he appeared on the reality television show The Real World: Boston. Duffy pursued higher education, graduating from St. Mary's College of Minnesota with a degree in marketing and later earning his law degree from the William Mitchell College of Law in nineteen ninety-nine.

On November eighteenth, twenty twenty-four, President-elect Donald Trump announced his intention to nominate Duffy as U.S. Secretary of Transportation. Duffy was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on January twenty-eight, twenty twenty-five, and sworn in on the same day. Shortly thereafter, on July ninth, twenty twenty-five, President Trump appointed him as the acting administrator of NASA until Jared Isaacman's confirmation on December eighteenth, twenty twenty-five.
