Sebastian Lang

Sebastian Lang, born on September fifteenth, nineteen seventy-nine, is a distinguished former German professional road bicycle racer and time trialist. His professional career spanned from two thousand two to two thousand eleven, during which he made significant contributions to the sport.

Lang began his professional journey with the Gerolsteiner team, where he competed until the team's dissolution in two thousand eight. In two thousand six, he achieved a remarkable milestone by becoming Germany's national time trial champion, showcasing his exceptional skills and determination.

One of the highlights of Lang's career came during the two thousand eight Tour de France. On stage nine, he made a daring break from the peloton just twenty-two kilometers into the stage. Despite facing tough competition, he managed to shake off his breakaway companions on the challenging col de Peyresourde, although he was eventually overtaken by Riccardo Riccò on the col d'Aspin. Lang's courageous effort earned him the most combative award for that stage and allowed him to accumulate points for the best climber jersey, which he proudly wore from stages twelve to fourteen.

In two thousand eleven, Lang achieved a remarkable feat by starting and finishing all three Grand Tours for Omega Pharma–Lotto, becoming only the thirty-first rider in history to accomplish this. He concluded his professional cycling career at the end of that season, retiring at the age of thirty-two, leaving behind a legacy of perseverance and excellence in the world of cycling.
