Şehzade Ahmed (son of Bayezid II)

Şehzade Ahmed, born in 1466, was a prominent figure in the Ottoman Empire, recognized as the eldest surviving son of Sultan Bayezid II. His life was marked by political ambition and familial rivalry, particularly in the context of the Ottoman Civil War that erupted between him and his younger brother, Selim.

During the tumultuous years from 1509 to 1513, Ahmed emerged as a key player in the struggle for succession following their father's reign. His aspirations were not only fueled by his royal lineage but also by the desire to secure his place in a rapidly changing political landscape.

Ahmed's involvement in the Şahkulu rebellion further underscored his commitment to his cause. However, despite his efforts and the support he garnered, he ultimately faced defeat at the hands of Selim, who successfully usurped the throne.

The culmination of this bitter conflict led to Ahmed's execution, ordered by Selim, marking a tragic end to his quest for power and a significant moment in Ottoman history.
