Seraphim Rose

Seraphim Rose, born Eugene Dennis Rose on August 13, 1934, was a prominent American hieromonk and priest of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia. He co-founded the Saint Herman of Alaska Monastery in Platina, California, where he dedicated his life to the translation of Eastern Orthodox Christian texts and the authorship of several influential works.

His writings played a significant role in the dissemination of Eastern Orthodox Christianity throughout the Western world, gaining him a following that extended even to Russia. During the Communist era, his works were clandestinely reproduced and circulated through samizdat, a testament to their impact and relevance.
