Sergey Brin

Sergey Brin, an influential American computer scientist and businessman, is best known as the co-founder of Google alongside Larry Page. His journey began when he immigrated to the United States from the Soviet Union at the tender age of six. Brin pursued his education at the University of Maryland, College Park, where he earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics and computer science, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather.

In September 1993, Brin enrolled at Stanford University to pursue a PhD in computer science. It was during this time that he met Larry Page, and together they developed a web search engine that quickly gained popularity. This innovative project led Brin to abandon his doctoral studies and launch Google from Susan Wojcicki's garage in Menlo Park, California.

Brin served as the president of Google's parent company, Alphabet Inc., until he stepped down from this role on December 3, 2019. Despite his departure from the presidency, he and Page continue to play significant roles at Alphabet as co-founders, controlling shareholders, and board members. With a net worth of forty-nine billion eight hundred million dollars, Brin is recognized as a centibillionaire and ranks among the wealthiest individuals globally.

In December 2023, Brin made headlines by coming out of retirement to contribute to artificial intelligence research at Alphabet Inc., reaffirming his commitment to innovation and technology.
