Sérgio da Rocha

Sérgio da Rocha, born on October twenty-first, nineteen fifty-nine, is a distinguished Brazilian prelate of the Catholic Church. He has held the esteemed position of cardinal since two thousand sixteen and currently serves as the Archbishop of São Salvador da Bahia, a role he has embraced since March eleventh, two thousand twenty.

His ecclesiastical journey began in two thousand one when he was appointed as the auxiliary bishop of Fortaleza, a position he held until two thousand seven. Following this, he became the coadjutor and subsequently the archbishop of Teresina from two thousand seven to two thousand eleven, before taking on the role of archbishop of Brasília, where he served from two thousand eleven until two thousand twenty.
