Sergio González Soriano, born on November 10, 1976, is a distinguished Spanish football manager and former professional player, currently serving as the head coach of Cádiz in the Segunda División. Known simply as Sergio during his playing days, he carved out a notable career as a central midfielder, recognized for his hard work and versatility in both defensive and playmaking roles.
His professional journey began at Espanyol, but it was at Deportivo de La Coruña where he truly made his mark, spending nearly a decade with the club. Over the course of his impressive fourteen seasons in La Liga, he accumulated a remarkable total of four hundred eighteen matches and thirty-four goals, showcasing his consistent performance on the field.
In addition to his club success, González represented Spain on the international stage, participating in the prestigious 2002 World Cup.
