Şevkefza Sultan

Şevkefza Sultan, born on December twelfth, eighteen twenty, was a prominent figure in the Ottoman Empire, known for her role as a consort to Sultan Abdulmejid I. Her life spanned a significant period in Ottoman history, marked by political and social changes.

She ascended to the esteemed position of Valide Sultan, the title given to the mother of the reigning sultan, from May thirtieth, eighteen seventy-six, until August thirty-first of the same year. This brief yet impactful tenure coincided with her son, Şehzade Murad, ascending the throne as Murad V.
