Sexyy Red

Janae Nierah Wherry, known to the world as Sexyy Red, is an American rapper and singer born on April 15, 1998. She burst onto the music scene with her 2023 single "Pound Town," featuring Tay Keith, which quickly gained traction and led to the release of its remixed sequel, "Pound Town 2," featuring Nicki Minaj. This marked her first entry on the Billboard Hot 100, establishing her as a formidable force in the industry.

Following the success of her debut, Sexyy Red released the single "SkeeYee," which also garnered significant acclaim. Both tracks were featured on her second mixtape, "Hood Hottest Princess," released in 2023. Billboard recognized her as one of the biggest breakout artists of that summer, highlighting her rapid rise in popularity.

In addition to her solo work, Wherry collaborated with several prominent artists in 2023, appearing on remixes for DaBaby's "Shake Sumn," NLE Choppa's "Slut Me Out," and Young Nudy's "Peaches & Eggplants," alongside rapper Latto. She also featured on Drake's single "Rich Baby Daddy," which reached the top twenty on the Billboard Hot 100.

That year, her collaboration with Tyler, the Creator on the single "Sticky," featuring GloRilla and Lil Wayne, peaked within the top ten and earned a nomination for Best Rap Song at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards. Her 2025 single, "Whatchu Kno About Me," featuring GloRilla, achieved double platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America.

In recognition of her achievements, Wherry was awarded "Best Breakthrough Hip Hop Artist" at the 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards, solidifying her status as a rising star in the music industry.
