Shakhriyar Mamedyarov

Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, born on April twelfth, nineteen eighty-five, is a distinguished Azerbaijani chess grandmaster. Renowned for his exceptional skills, he has achieved the remarkable distinction of being Azerbaijan's highest-rated chess player as of July twenty twenty-five. His personal best rating of two thousand eight hundred twenty places him as the sixth-highest-rated player in the history of chess.

Mamedyarov's competitive journey includes notable appearances in the Candidates Tournament, where he reached the quarterfinals in two thousand eleven, secured fourth place in two thousand fourteen, and impressively finished second in two thousand eighteen. His accolades also include being a two-time World Junior Champion, triumphing in two thousand three and two thousand five, and claiming the title of World Rapid Champion in two thousand thirteen.
