Shane Gaalaas, born on August eighth, nineteen sixty-seven, is a distinguished Canadian drummer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter. He is widely recognized for his long-standing collaboration with the iconic Japanese rock band B'z, which he joined in two thousand two. His impressive career also includes extensive work alongside guitar legends such as Michael Schenker, Yngwie Malmsteen, Uli Jon Roth, Vinnie Moore, and Jeff Kollman.

In addition to his work with B'z, Gaalaas is a founding member of the progressive rock trio Cosmosquad and the extreme metal band Diesel Machine. He currently showcases his talents as the drummer for Toque, an all-Canadian all-star cover band that features notable musicians like Todd Kerns and Brent Fitz, known for their work with Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators, along with guitarist Cory Churko.

Gaalaas has also made a name for himself as a solo artist, releasing several albums and continuing to thrive as a session musician. His musical journey began with a solid educational foundation, having graduated from Grant MacEwan Music College in Edmonton, Alberta, and the Percussion Institute of Technology in Hollywood, California.
