Shane Rimmer

Shane Lance Deacon, known to the world as Shane Rimmer, was a versatile Canadian actor and screenwriter born on May 28, 1929. He spent the majority of his illustrious career in the United Kingdom, earning the affectionate title of the 'Rent-A-Yank' within the British entertainment industry. Over the span of more than six decades, Rimmer made his mark by appearing in over one hundred sixty films and television programs, often portraying supporting characters with North American roots.

Among his most memorable roles, Rimmer lent his voice to Scott Tracy in the iconic original series of Thunderbirds. He also captivated audiences as Air Force Captain 'Ace' Owens in the satirical classic Dr. Strangelove. His television credits include notable characters such as Joe Donnelli and Malcolm Reid on Coronation Street, as well as Louie Watterson in the beloved Cartoon Network series The Amazing World of Gumball.

Rimmer's filmography is further distinguished by his appearances in several James Bond films, most notably as Commander Carter, the Captain of the USS Wayne, in The Spy Who Loved Me.
