Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Shannon Sharpe

Shannon Sharpe, born on June 26, 1968, is a celebrated American former professional football tight end, renowned for his remarkable career in the National Football League (NFL). Over the course of fourteen seasons, primarily with the Denver Broncos, he established himself as one of the greatest tight ends in the history of the sport.

Sharpe's journey began at Savannah State University, where he played college football for the Tigers. His talent was recognized when he was selected by the Broncos in the seventh round of the 1990 NFL Draft. During his twelve non-consecutive seasons with Denver, he earned seven consecutive Pro Bowl selections and four first-team All-Pro honors, culminating in two consecutive Super Bowl victories.

In addition to his time with the Broncos, Sharpe spent two seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, where he received an eighth Pro Bowl selection and secured a third Super Bowl title. Notably, he was the first NFL tight end to surpass ten thousand receiving yards and retired as the all-time leader in tight end receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns. His exceptional contributions to the game were recognized with his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2011.

After retiring from professional football, Sharpe transitioned into sports journalism, serving as an analyst for The NFL Today on CBS Sports. He co-hosted the popular show Skip and Shannon: Undisputed on Fox Sports 1 alongside Skip Bayless from 2016 to 2023. In the 2020s, he further expanded his influence in the sports media landscape by hosting the podcasts Club Shay Shay and Nightcap. Following his departure from Undisputed in 2023, Sharpe joined ESPN as a weekly analyst on First Take until 2025.
