Shaun Goater, born on February 25, 1970, is a distinguished Bermudian former professional footballer, coach, and pundit. His football journey began at Manchester United, although he did not make it to the first team. Instead, he made his league debut in 1989 with Rotherham United, where he spent an impressive seven years honing his skills.
In 1996, Goater transferred to Bristol City, and two years later, he made a significant move to Manchester City for a fee of four hundred thousand pounds. It was at City where he truly made his mark, becoming the club's top scorer for four consecutive seasons and netting over one hundred goals between 1998 and 2003.
After his successful stint at Manchester City, Goater continued his career with spells at Reading, Coventry City, and Southend United, ultimately retiring in May 2006. In addition to his club career, he proudly represented Bermuda on the international stage, earning thirty-six caps and scoring thirty-two goals.
