Shawn Mendes, born on August 8, 1998, is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and musician who first gained prominence in 2013 through his captivating song covers on Vine. His talent quickly caught the attention of industry professionals, leading to a record deal with Island Records in 2014.

His debut EP, self-titled 'Shawn Mendes', was released in 2014, followed by his first studio album, 'Handwritten', in 2015. The album debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200, making Mendes one of only five artists to achieve this feat before turning 18. The hit single 'Stitches' further solidified his status, reaching number one in the UK and breaking into the top 10 in both the US and Canada.
