Shea Weber, born on August 14, 1985, is a distinguished Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman currently playing for the Chicago Blackhawks in the National Hockey League (NHL). His journey in the NHL began when he was selected in the second round, forty-ninth overall, by the Nashville Predators during the 2003 NHL entry draft. Over the course of eleven seasons with the Predators, Weber established himself as a formidable player, serving as team captain for six of those years.
In June 2016, Weber was traded to the Montreal Canadiens, where he continued to showcase his exceptional skills on the ice. Renowned for his powerful slapshot, he has claimed victory in the hardest shot event at the annual NHL All-Star Skills Competition four times, solidifying his reputation as one of the league's most formidable defencemen.
