Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Sheikh Abdullah

Sheikh Abdullah, born on December fifth, nineteen oh five, was a prominent Indian politician, chemist, and writer who significantly influenced the political landscape of Jammu and Kashmir. As the founding leader and President of the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference, which later became known as the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, he was a vocal advocate for self-rule in Kashmir, challenging the authority of Maharaja Hari Singh.

Affectionately referred to as Sher-e-Kashmir, meaning 'Lion of Kashmir', and Baba-e-Qaum, or 'Father of the State of Jammu & Kashmir', Abdullah's political journey was marked by his commitment to the rights and aspirations of the Kashmiri people. He served as the first elected Prime Minister of the Princely State of Jammu and Kashmir, a position from which he was later dismissed on August eighth, nineteen fifty-three, due to his support for insurgents.

In a significant shift in governance terminology, the titles 'Sadr-i-Riyasat' and 'Prime Minister' were replaced with 'Governor' and 'Chief Minister' in nineteen sixty-five. Following a political accord with Indira Gandhi in nineteen seventy-four, Sheikh Abdullah returned to power as Chief Minister, a role he held until his passing on September eighth, nineteen eighty-two. His legacy continues through his grandson, Omar Abdullah, who currently serves as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir.
