Sheilah Martin

Sheilah L. Martin, born on May 31, 1956, is a distinguished puisne justice of the Supreme Court of Canada, a position she has held since her appointment in 2017. Nominated by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Martin's elevation to the highest court in the country marked a significant milestone in her illustrious legal career.

Prior to her tenure on the Supreme Court, Martin served with distinction on the Court of Appeal of Alberta, the Court of Appeal for the Northwest Territories, and the Court of Appeal of Nunavut, beginning in 2016.
