Shelley Moore Capito

Shelley Moore Capito, born on November twenty-six, nineteen fifty-three, is a prominent American politician and school counselor, currently serving as the senior United States senator from West Virginia. A dedicated member of the Republican Party, she previously represented West Virginia's 2nd congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from two thousand one to two thousand fifteen.

Capito made history in two thousand fourteen when she was elected to the Senate, becoming the first woman to hold this position from West Virginia. Additionally, she was the first Republican from the state to secure a full Senate term since nineteen forty-two.
