One of the highlights of Perry's career came on June 9, 2004, when she, as a U.S. qualifier ranked No. 88, pulled off a stunning upset against the fifth-ranked Jelena Dokic at the DFS grass-court tournament, winning in straight sets, 6–4, 7–6 (4). This victory marked a significant moment in her career and demonstrated her competitive spirit.

Perry's journey in professional tennis also included a notable appearance at the 2006 Wimbledon Championships, where she was dubbed the 'last American left standing' in either singles draw.
