During a holiday, his father introduced him to the sport, igniting an immediate passion that led him to pursue shooting seriously. Recognizing the potential in their son, his parents wholeheartedly supported his ambition, allowing him to join the Suzhou Sports School’s Shooting team just a year later.
Sheng's natural talent quickly became apparent, and he soon earned a spot on the Jiangsu provincial team. By the age of fourteen, he had ascended to the China national team, showcasing his skills on an international stage. His dedication and hard work culminated in a remarkable achievement at the Tokyo Olympics, where he secured a silver medal, making him the youngest athlete to win an Olympic medal in the shooting event.
Continuing to break records, Sheng set a new world record with an impressive score of six hundred thirty-seven point nine points, a testament to his unparalleled stability and consistent performance. His coach even found it challenging to explain the magnitude of this achievement.
