Williams first gained international recognition at the 2005 World Championships in Athletics, where she contributed to the Jamaican team's silver medal victory in the 4 × 400 metres relay alongside Novlene Williams-Mills, Ronetta Smith, and Lorraine Fenton. Although she competed individually, she was eliminated in the semifinals.
