Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Shibu Soren

Shibu Soren, affectionately known as the Dishom Guru, was born on January 11, 1944. He emerged as a prominent Indian social reformer and politician, best known for his pivotal role in the establishment of Jharkhand as a separate state from Bihar. As the founder and longtime president of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Soren dedicated his life to advocating for the rights and welfare of the indigenous people of Jharkhand.

His political career was marked by significant milestones, including his tenure as the third Chief Minister of Jharkhand. Soren first held this position for a brief period of ten days in March 2005, before serving again from 2008 to 2009 and then from 2009 to 2010. His influence extended beyond state politics, as he represented Dumka in the Lok Sabha for multiple terms between 1980 and 2019, and later served in the Rajya Sabha from 2020 until his passing in 2025.

In addition to his legislative roles, Soren held the position of Minister for Coal in the Union Cabinet on three occasions, specifically in the years two thousand four, two thousand four to two thousand five, and two thousand six. Despite his contributions to Indian politics, his career was marred by controversy, including a conviction related to the murder of his private secretary, Shashi Nath Jha, in 1994, along with other past criminal charges.
