Shinji Mikami, born on August eleventh, nineteen sixty-five, is a renowned Japanese video game designer, director, and producer. He began his illustrious career at Capcom in nineteen ninety, where he quickly made a name for himself by working on some of the company's most iconic titles.

In nineteen ninety-six, Mikami directed the groundbreaking first installment of the Resident Evil series, which set the standard for survival horror games. He followed this success with the first Dino Crisis installment in nineteen ninety-nine. His return to Resident Evil saw him directing the remake of the original game in two thousand two and the critically acclaimed Resident Evil 4 in two thousand five, which further solidified his legacy in the gaming industry.

After directing his final Capcom title, God Hand, in two thousand six, Mikami founded PlatinumGames and directed the third-person shooter Vanquish in two thousand ten. That same year, he left PlatinumGames to establish Tango Gameworks, where he directed the survival horror game The Evil Within in two thousand fourteen. Throughout his career, he has also taken on roles as producer and executive producer for numerous games.

In two thousand nine, Mikami was recognized by IGN as one of the top one hundred game creators of all time. In two thousand twenty-three, he left Tango Gameworks and founded a new studio, Unbound Co., Ltd, in two thousand twenty-two, continuing to shape the future of video gaming.
