Shirley Babashoff

Shirley Babashoff, born on January 31, 1957, is a distinguished American swimmer who made her mark in the world of competitive swimming as an Olympic champion and a former world record-holder. Throughout her illustrious career, she set an impressive six world records and amassed a remarkable total of nine Olympic medals, showcasing her exceptional talent and dedication to the sport.

Babashoff's Olympic journey was highlighted by her gold medal victories in the 400-meter freestyle relay during both the 1972 and 1976 Olympic Games.
