Shohreh Aghdashloo, born on May eleventh, nineteen fifty-two, is an acclaimed Iranian-American actress whose career spans stage, film, and television. She first captivated audiences with her stage performances before making her film debut in the critically lauded Chess of the Wind in nineteen seventy-six. Following this, her roles in The Report and Sooteh Delan, both released in nineteen seventy-seven, solidified her status as one of Iran's leading actresses, despite the films being banned in her home country.

In the wake of the Iranian Revolution in nineteen seventy-nine, Aghdashloo relocated to England and later to the United States, where she became a U.S. citizen. After years of taking on smaller roles in various television and film projects, her breakthrough came with her performance in House of Sand and Fog in two thousand three, which earned her several film critics' awards and a nomination for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.

Aghdashloo's filmography includes notable appearances in The Exorcism of Emily Rose, X-Men: The Last Stand, The Nativity Story, The Odd Life of Timothy Green, and Star Trek Beyond. On television, she is widely recognized for her roles as Dina Araz in the fourth season of 24 and Chrisjen Avasarala in The Expanse from two thousand fifteen to two thousand twenty-two.
