Shuji Nakamura

Shuji Nakamura, born on May 22, 1954, is a distinguished Japanese-American physicist and engineer renowned for his groundbreaking contributions to semiconductor technology. His most notable achievement is the co-invention of the blue LED, a pivotal advancement that has transformed lighting technology and energy efficiency.

In recognition of his innovative work, Nakamura was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2014, sharing this prestigious honor with fellow inventors Isamu Akasaki and Hiroshi Amano.
