Sibylla of Burgundy

Sibylla of Burgundy, born in the year one thousand one hundred twenty-six, was a prominent figure in medieval history, serving as the Queen of Sicily through her marriage to King Roger II. She was the daughter of Hugh II, Duke of Burgundy, and Felicia-Matilda of Mayenne, which positioned her within the influential circles of European nobility.

In the year one thousand one hundred forty-nine, Sibylla entered into matrimony with Roger II, solidifying a crucial alliance for the Sicilian crown. Their union was marked by the birth of two children, although their firstborn, Henry, born on twenty-nine August one thousand one hundred forty-nine, tragically died in infancy. The couple's second child was stillborn on sixteen September one thousand one hundred fifty.

Sadly, Sibylla's life was cut short when she passed away on sixteen September one thousand one hundred fifty, succumbing to complications from childbirth. Her untimely death not only left a void in the royal family but also in the hearts of her subjects.
