Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Sifan Hassan

Sifan Hassan, born on January first, nineteen ninety-three, is an extraordinary Ethiopian-Dutch athlete renowned for her remarkable versatility in both middle- and long-distance running. Her athletic prowess was showcased at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, where she achieved an unprecedented triple by winning gold medals in the 5,000 metres and 10,000 metres, alongside a bronze in the 1,500 metres. This remarkable feat made her the only athlete in Olympic history to secure medals across a middle-distance event and both long-distance races in a single Games.

At the Paris 2024 Olympics, Hassan continued to impress by clinching a bronze medal in both the women's 5,000 m and 10,000 m events, while also winning gold in the women's marathon. This victory established her as the only woman to have won Olympic gold medals in the 5,000 metres, 10,000 metres, and marathon races, further solidifying her legacy in the sport.

Hassan's achievements extend beyond the Olympics. At the World Athletics Championships in 2019, she made history by winning both the 1,500 m and 10,000 m titles, becoming the only athlete, male or female, to accomplish this at a single World Championships or Olympic Games. Her earlier accolades include a bronze medal in the 1,500 m in 2015 and a bronze in the 5,000 m in 2017, where she also finished fifth in the 1,500 m.

In addition to her championship successes, Hassan is a three-time World Indoor Championships medallist, with a gold in the 1,500 m in 2016, silver in the 3,000 m, and bronze in the 1,500 m in 2018. She has earned six European medals, including two cross country titles, and one European indoor medal. As a three-time Diamond League winner, she achieved the 1,500 m/5,000 m double in 2019 and made a stunning debut in the marathon by winning the 2023 London Marathon.

Hassan has held the world record for the one hour run since 2020 and was the world record holder for the one mile on the track from July 2019 until July 2023. She briefly held a world record at 10,000 m for two days in June 2021 and currently holds six European records across various distances, along with three other Dutch records.
