Signe Kivi

Signe Kivi, born on February twenty-fourth, nineteen fifty-seven, is a multifaceted Estonian textile artist and politician. Her journey in the arts began with her graduation from the Estonian Academy of Arts in nineteen eighty, where she specialized in textile design. Kivi's artistic career flourished as she became an artist at the renowned art factory ARS from nineteen eighty-five to nineteen ninety-one.

In addition to her artistic endeavors, Kivi has made significant contributions to education. Since nineteen eighty-eight, she has been a lecturer at the Estonian Academy of Arts, and her dedication to teaching led her to become a professor in nineteen ninety-seven. Her leadership skills were further recognized when she served as the rector of the Estonian Academy of Arts from two thousand five to two thousand fifteen.

Kivi's political career is equally impressive. She has been a member of the IX, X, and XIV Riigikogu, the Estonian parliament, and held the position of Minister of Culture from nineteen ninety-nine to two thousand two. A committed member of the Estonian Reform Party, she has been actively involved in politics since nineteen ninety-eight, with a brief hiatus before rejoining in two thousand fourteen.
