Sileshi Sihine

Sileshi Sihine, born on January twenty-nine, nineteen eighty-three, is a distinguished Ethiopian retired long-distance runner who has made significant contributions to athletics. His remarkable career is highlighted by his impressive performances in the 10,000 meters, where he clinched silver medals at both the 2004 Athens Olympics and the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

In addition to his Olympic achievements, Sileshi showcased his talent on the world stage, earning silver medals at the World Championships in two consecutive years, 2005 and 2007, as well as a bronze medal in 2003. His prowess extended to the 5,000 meters, where he also secured a silver medal at the 2005 World Championships.

Beyond his athletic accomplishments, Sileshi has taken on a leadership role in the sport. He was appointed president of the Ethiopian Athletic Federation in 2024, marking his second term after previously serving from 2015 to 2016.
