Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Simeon Bekbulatovich

Simeon Bekbulatovich, born in the year sixteen hundred, was a notable Russian statesman of Tatar descent. His lineage traced back to the legendary Genghis Khan, which added a remarkable dimension to his political career. Initially born into a Muslim family, he served as the khan of the Khanate of Qasim before undergoing a significant transformation in his life by converting to Christianity.

His political journey took a pivotal turn when he became an aide to Ivan IV of Russia. During the tumultuous period of the Livonian War, Simeon showcased his military prowess as the commander of the main regiment, known as bolshoy polk, of the Russian army. In the year fifteen seventy-five, Ivan IV appointed him as the grand prince of all Russia, although Ivan retained the actual power and returned to the throne a year later.

Following his brief tenure as the figurehead ruler, Simeon was appointed the grand prince of Tver and Torzhok, a position he held from fifteen seventy-six until fifteen eighty-five. His life took a tragic turn in fifteen ninety-five when he lost his sight, either through natural causes or as a result of being blinded. In the year sixteen oh six, he embraced a monastic life, taking the name Stefan as he was tonsured as a Christian monk.
