Simon Gerrans

Simon Gerrans, born on May sixteenth, nineteen eighty, is a distinguished Australian former professional road bicycle racer. His professional career spanned from two thousand five to two thousand eighteen, during which he showcased his talents with several prominent teams, including AG2R Prévoyance, Crédit Agricole, Cervélo TestTeam, Team Sky, Orica–Scott, and BMC Racing Team.

Throughout his illustrious career, Gerrans achieved remarkable success, notably winning the Australian National Road Race Championships twice, in two thousand twelve and two thousand fourteen. He also made history by winning the Tour Down Under a record four times, alongside significant victories in one-day races such as the GP Ouest-France in two thousand nine, Milan–San Remo in two thousand twelve, and the Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec in both two thousand twelve and two thousand fourteen. His prowess was further highlighted by his triumph in the prestigious Liège–Bastogne–Liège in two thousand fourteen and stage wins across all three Grand Tours.

In the two thousand thirteen Tour de France, Gerrans made headlines by claiming the yellow jersey on Stage four, a testament to his exceptional skills as part of the winning team in the Stage four team time trial held in Nice.

After retiring from competitive cycling, Gerrans transitioned into the business world, initially serving as an athlete intern at Goldman Sachs in London. In early two thousand twenty, he took on a significant role as COO and later CEO of The Service Course, where he is also an investor. Additionally, he shares his expertise and insights as a commentator for road cycling events with ASO and SBS.
