Simone Battle

Simone Battle was an American singer, dancer, and actress, born on June seventeenth, nineteen eighty-nine. She began her career with notable appearances in popular television series such as Zoey 101 and Everybody Hates Chris. Her talent extended beyond acting, as she also featured in several music videos and made her film debut in We the Party in two thousand twelve, sharing the screen with renowned artist Snoop Dogg.

In two thousand eleven, Battle gained significant attention after auditioning for the American version of The X Factor, although she was eliminated during the first live show. Despite this setback, her career took a promising turn in two thousand twelve when she became a member of the original lineup of the girl group G.R.L. The group achieved widespread recognition in two thousand fourteen with their hit single 'Wild Wild Love,' featuring rapper Pitbull, which reached the top ten in multiple countries, including Australia and the United Kingdom.

Following the success of 'Wild Wild Love,' G.R.L. released 'Ugly Heart' in June two thousand fourteen, which was met with critical acclaim and also climbed to the top ten in several countries. Tragically, just three months after this success, Simone Battle passed away at the young age of twenty-five, after battling depression. In a heartfelt tribute, G.R.L. dedicated their single 'Lighthouse' to her memory, honoring her legacy and the impact she had on their lives and music.
