Simone Tebet

Simone Tebet, born on February twenty-second, nineteen seventy, is a prominent Brazilian politician, lawyer, and academic affiliated with the Brazilian Socialist Party (PSB). Her political career is marked by significant milestones, including her tenure as Minister of Planning and Budget from twenty twenty-three to twenty twenty-six, and as Senator for Mato Grosso do Sul from twenty fifteen to twenty twenty-three. Notably, she served as Vice-Governor of Mato Grosso do Sul from twenty eleven to twenty fourteen and was the mayor of Três Lagoas from twenty oh five to twenty ten, making history as the first woman to hold both the vice-governorship and mayoralty.

In the twenty twenty-two presidential election, Tebet represented the Brazilian Democratic Movement (MDB) as a candidate, advocating for a centrist Third Way platform. She garnered four point sixteen percent of the vote in the first round, ultimately placing third. Her strategic endorsement of Lula in the runoff was pivotal in securing his narrow victory, leading to her appointment in his cabinet.
