Simonetta Vespucci

Simonetta Vespucci, born Cattaneo in February of 1453, was an illustrious Italian noblewoman hailing from the vibrant city of Genoa. She became the wife of Marco Vespucci, a prominent figure from Florence, and was also related to the famed explorer Amerigo Vespucci, making her a significant figure in the social circles of her time.

Renowned for her extraordinary beauty, Simonetta earned the affectionate nickname 'la bella Simonetta,' which translates to 'the fair Simonetta.' Her striking appearance captivated many, and she was often regarded as the epitome of beauty in Italy during the Renaissance period.
