Sirusho

Siranush Hrachyayi Harutyunyan, known to the world as Sirusho, was born on January seventh, nineteen eighty-seven, in Armenia. A talented singer and songwriter, she began her musical journey at a young age, receiving her first award at just nine years old for her enchanting song 'Lusabats'. Sirusho's debut studio album, aptly titled 'Sirusho', was released in two thousand, followed by her second album 'Sheram' in two thousand five. That same year, she garnered significant recognition at the inaugural Armenian National Music Awards, winning accolades for Best Album and Best Female Performer, as well as being honored as the Future of Armenian Music.

Her international breakthrough came in two thousand eight when she represented Armenia at the Eurovision Song Contest held in Belgrade, Serbia. With her co-written song 'Qélé, Qélé', Sirusho captivated audiences and finished fourth in the competition, earning her the title of a 'national treasure' from the BBC. This performance marked a pivotal moment in her career, propelling her into the European music scene.

In two thousand twelve, Sirusho released the single 'PreGomesh', which not only showcased her musical prowess but also inspired her to create a line of handcrafted silver jewelry that reflects Armenian culture and modern fashion. This venture made her the first Armenian artist to receive two nominations at the World Music Awards for 'PreGomesh', further solidifying her status in the music industry.

Her influence continued to grow, and in two thousand thirteen, W magazine recognized her as one of the '6 un-American idols', highlighting her potential to introduce a unique sound and language to the Western world. In two thousand seventeen, Sirusho was honored with the title of Honored Artist of Armenia by President Serzh Sargsyan, a testament to her contributions to the arts. Her musical style beautifully blends traditional Armenian sounds with contemporary music, making her a distinctive voice in the industry.
